Our Vision is to provide safeguarding training through the voice of the survivors and victims.
They will be listened to so that safeguarding will move from ‘from the head to the heart’. This will enable those involved with the mission of the church; those working in schools and other services, to have a deeper understanding of how to respond effectively to victims and survivors
Our mission
Beyond Just Words will provide training from the survivor perspective, improving insight and sensitivity to survivors and victims; giving value to the survivor voice and to prevent further harm.
Our aims
- To help the ongoing healing of the spiritual, emotional and psychological wounds of abuse, through survivor-led training that will give confidence and support to those appointed to fulfill the Ministry of Safeguarding in the Church, Education and the wider community.
- To give an enlightened and comprehensive education grounded in the survivor-lived experience; to improve the responses of those within Safeguarding towards survivors of abuse so as to better protect children and vulnerable adults.
- To offer support to those teaching about relationships and sex education in schools to ensure that teachers and parents are skilled and confident to ‘talk through the taboo’.
- To change safeguarding practice in order to listen to the victims and survivors who have been so long ignored by the establishment; bringing hope to those in need of care.
